What is MICGénero?
Since its foundation, the micgénero exhibition has promoted film as a critical tool to address issues such as feminism, gender studies and human rights. In its 2025 edition, it resumes the on-site format with activities in multiple states and culminates in Mexico City.
Dates in Mexico City
Programming in the CDMX will take place from August 28 to September 11.
This section in the capital includes free screenings, special activities and screenings at emblematic venues such as the Cineteca Nacional and the IPN Zacatenco, where there will be double screenings on September 8 at 12:00 and 19:00 hrs.
Themes and Official Selection
The official selection presents 12 feature films and 24 short films from Mexico and the world, grouped in 12 categories such as ecofeminisms, migration or sexual and reproductive rights. Highlights include Our Land, Our Freedom (USA), La buena letra ( Spain), Silver Haze (Netherlands), Fck Fame: Batallones Femeninos México (Mexico ) and Sorda (Spain).
Special Activities in CDMX
During the days in the capital, there will be complementary experiences such as:
- Retrospective of Dušan MakavejevMaster Class at the Cineteca Nacional on August 30, given by researcher Viridiana Martínez Marín.
- Salsa public class “She leads me” : on August 29th at the Goethe-Institut: on August 29 at the Goethe-Institut, designed to question traditional roles in dance and propose a logic of shared leadership.

Prior to its arrival in Mexico City, the tour began on August 7 in Cuernavaca and extended to other states and municipalities such as:
